 U.S.A. Research Sites on Genealogy  
   

  1. Archives:  You can find birth, death, marriage, divorce, and vital records from an easy to use search     engine.  However,  to see and download the record requires a subcription fee.
  2. Ancestry:  Though it does provide a few free searchs,  it is primarily a pay for ancestry research site.
  3. Church of LDS National Family History Center:  This test site provides searches for ancestral files.
  4. Cyndi's site:   It provides 90 subject categories of links to genealogy sites on the net.  An excellent  free site with hundreds of national and international links.  A good place to begin!!
  5. Genealogy.com:  This  is another for fee site.  It does have a fine-tuned internet genealogy search  engine. 
  6. National Archives: Aids and guides to US National Archives.  It provides assistance for finding census, military,  immigration,  naturalization,  passport,  land,  bankruptcy, and other sources.
  7. Newberry Library:   It has links to books  and library materials located in several categories.
  8. Roots:   Another site with an excellent search engines, but to get any real records you have to subscribe.
  9. U.S.  Bureau of Land Management:  Site provides live access to federal land conveyance records for the Public Land States, issued between 1820 and 1908.  
  10. U.S. Gen Web Project: This Site was formed by a voluntary organization working to provide genealogical information for each state and county in the USA.
     

European Research Sites
  1. East Europeans and Germans:   This site has an excellent initial page and a surname search engine.
  2. Daddezio Start up Page:   A large site for German and Eastern European searches and maps. Many sites allow seaching by surnames.  Site provides an excellent initial page.
  3. Genealogy Help:   This genealogy homepage site is written in English and German.
  4. German Migration:   At this resource center you can post or read imigration queries, family reunions, and buy books about German genealogy and migration.
  5. German Phone Book:   This electronic telephone book and yellow pages for the internet is compiled by Deutshe Telekon.
  6. German Roots:   A web directory for doing German-American family history research.
  7. German of Sudetenland:   Help in searching for German ancesters in Bohemia, Moravia, Austrian Silesia, and Czeck Republic.
  8. Irish Now Heritage:   Site provides links to Irish genealogy section with startup hints on tracing your Irish roots.
Other: Africans, Asians, Latins and Native Americans. 
  1. African-Americans Beginning Tips:  Provides sound advice to those starting a search for roots - particularly if your ancestors were slaves.
  2. African- Americans Christine's Website:  This site provides a directory of links on African-American genealogy.
  3. African- Americans Cyndi's List:  It has over 69,900 links, categorized and cross-referenced, in over 120 categories with another 12,700+ uncategorized links in the works.
  4. African-Americans Genealogy About-Com:  It has a big area devoted to research links as well as other sources.
  5. African-Americans Lycos Search Engine:  A directory page of links to African-American genealogy sources.
  6. African- Americans Ring:  This site is dedicated to genealogists who are researching African-American family histories. It provides web building tips and, when done,web site registration.
  7. Asian-Americans Gen Web Project:  The site provides a list of Asian countries with web hosted sites. From this site you can download PAF 4.0 on Asian roots.
  8. Asian Lycos Search-Beat: It shows links for researching Asia, Australia and Pacific genealogy and family history using categories such as names.
  9. Asian China Lycos Directory: It has a links to 16 China-American Web sites that pertain to genealogy research.
  10. Native-Americans Auraria Library:  It has a list of links on Native-American history, culture, and roots.
  11. Native-Americans Internet Resources: The site offers an extensive list of links on bibliographies, directories, history and general links.
  12. Latin-Americans People Finder:  It has a very complet set of search engines links for finding phone numbers, email addresses and postal addresses.
