       Welcome to Area 4

Founded in 1929,  CalRTA, has 91 divisions and over 50,000 members  spanning the State.

Our Area 4 has 7 divisions stretching from San Francisco Bay to the wind farm at Altamont Pass.

Legislation

In California we are the dominant retirement group working at the federal and state  level to protect  and  enhance your  benefits.

For information about our issues, legislative involvement, and recent  accomplishments,  check  out the  links  under  CalRTA  in the left  column.  Also,  you will find there a link to the special benefits that we offer to our members.

With the  legislation Information  links you can find your representatives, check the status  of state and federal bills, and send emails  to your legislators, Governor,  and President.

Senior Assistance

We are particular concerned about offering you information about  fraud, medicare, consumer protection, meals on wheels, and so on.  These are called Resource Services. Under that title in the left column the Help for Seniors link rockets you to a smorgasbord of invaluable social service sites .

Leisure Pursuits

Notice the set of links under Leisure Pursuits.
  • The art link allows you to exaim master pieces up close  like the  Mona  Lisa in the Paris Louvre.
  • With the  news  link you can  update yourself daily by browsing through dozens of local, state, national, and inter- national  newspaper and TV sources.
  • Sports allow you to stay current nationally on baseball, basketball, bowling, boxing, figure skating, football, golf, ... wrestling.

Other sites that may be added include books, financial news and performing arts.

Membership

Membership is not restricted to retired educators. If you are currently in education  or interested in our goals, you are welcomed!

Local Division Followship and Fun

Each of our divisions has luncheon meetings and other events that stress followship and having fun. The links to the web sites of our divisions are displayed near the top of the page.
